Irish Tax Institute Launches New Certificate in Tax Policy-Making

Expand your knowledge and understanding of tax policy in Ireland and the EU

As governments and decision-makers prepare to make key tax decisions this autumn, gain an insight into the policy-making process

The Irish Tax Institute is delighted to launch a new Certificate in Tax Policy-Making, to be delivered this coming September.

Course participants will hear from top speakers on a range of policy issues for Ireland, such as: 

    • The tax policy challenges we are currently facing,
    • The influence of the EU on tax policy-making here, and
    • International best practice in policy-making.

Modules to be delivered by an expert team of Irish and international experts, including:

    • Senior representatives from the Department of Finance and Revenue
    • Críona Brassill – Senior Policy Advisor with Forfás
    • Dr Donal de Buitléir – Irish Fiscal Policy Research Centre
    • Professor John Fitzgerald – Economic and Social Research Institute
    • Seán Moriarty - former Head of International Co-operation and Tax Administration Division of OECD
    • Philip Kermode – Director, European Commission Taxation and Customs Union Directorate General
    • Adrian Crawford – tax partner in KPMG Dublin and former President of the Irish Tax Institute  
    • Michael O’Grady – former Revenue Commissioner
    • Chris Sanger – head of Ernst & Young Global Tax Policy Development group
    • Aidan Walsh – tax partner in Ernst & Young Dublin

Cost: 

Certificate, including assessment - €865
All 11 modules without assessment - €699 
Individual module - €90 each


Your options: 

  1. Certificate to be awarded to those who attend the modules and successfully complete an assessment.
  2. Alternatively, you can choose to attend only the module(s) which interest you.

CPD: Full course = 16.5 hours of CPD, fully satisfying Institute members’ structured tax technical CPD obligation for 2012.

Location: All modules will be delivered at the Irish Tax Institute offices, or online where applicable

Timing: Two modules per evening will be delivered on weekday evenings in September and October from 6pm to 9pm
